Press release: Gillingham & Rainham MP makes plea in support of Salvation Army Gillingham

Rehman Chishti, Member of Parliament for Gillingham and Rainham, is asking local businesses and individuals to lend their support to the Salvation Army Gillingham in their appeal to raise £1500 for a new cooker, which will be used to help the homeless.

Rehman today arranged for the excellent local business Rivet Distillery (Chatham Maritime) to make a contribution of £250 to the appeal fund, with Bob Russell handing over a cheque to Salvation Army volunteer Haris.

Commenting, Rehman said:

“I recently learned of their need for a new cooker on my visit to their Christmas fair, and reached out to a number of businesses. This included Bob from Rivet Distillery who said yes straight away to help this great cause, and I urge everyone out there to help this fantastic organisation, especially at this special time of the year.”

If you are able to help, please contact Haris at the Salvation Army Gillingham: haris@gillinghamcorps.info
